On Saturday June 1st we had our last away day before Vicky leaves us to take up her post as chaplain at Woodhouse Grove School in September.

The day was entitled "Seasons of the Soul".  We had a really interesting time looking at how our values, memories and experiences shape us and change as we age.  We thought about 

• Who am I

• Why am I here

• How then shall I live

 

With our wider focus on the three headings

 

• Memories

• Wisdom

• Celebration of life

 

We followed this with with lunch, more conversation ​​and then rounded off the day with a communion specially written for the day based upon the passage from Ecclesiastes 3 and the Fred Kahn Hymn, Thank you O God for the time that is now.

 

We would like to say a huge thank you to Hetton Methodist church for the use of their lovely building, their generous hospitality (especially the good coffee), and to Vicky for leading a stimulating and fun day.
